- Kerby Joseph isn't back from his knee injury anytime soon.
“I don't think he's going to be back anytime soon.”
In context
PelisseroI saw him like a week later wearing Bengals gear on the field before a game. Like it's not totally, you know, off the wall to talk about that stuff. Like they've got a lot of different issues in Detroit on defense right now. It starts with the secondary is just gutted.
PelisseroEverybody, you know, ripped Terry on Arnold long before the legal issues, but going back to just like, you know, his, his completions allowed and pass rate and all that. But like from day one, they were confident going, you're taking the number one receiver. Like you're going to be on an island and you're just playing with them and you're going to deal with it.
PelisseroAnd he competed week in and week out. Last year he was hurt, obviously.
PelisseroDJ Reed's been banged up all season. Branch hasn't played. He might be the most important guy in that defense. And Kirby Joseph hasn't played. I don't think he's going to be back anytime soon. He is trying to get back this season, but he's got a pretty significant knee injury that the rehab process is really elongated.
Pelisseroand that's why he's not out on the field yet.
PelisseroBut even more so, they don't seem to have an identity. When you talk to other people who have faced them, it's just kind of like, what are they trying to be on defense? If you want to have optimism, if your offense for the Lions has scored 31, 31, 31, 26 points.
PelisseroYou'd say if we're scoring like that for most teams, like you're in these games. The problem is you've given up 30, 41, 24, and 32.
