In context
HouseThe second half, the richest storyline going into the second half was whether or not we'd see a fistfight between those two. There was a lot of, I don't know if anybody noted usage.
HouseJoe Buck just talked and talked and talked last. Troy was not really getting himself too involved. I would like to see the breakdown of usage, but you know what? Usage wise, Washington came out of that second half and showed a version of that football team that had, you know, Washington fans at the outset of the season, reasonably optimistic for a decent season, a season of maybe seven or eight wins.
HouseThe version of football that we saw out of Washington where they are blitzing, where scheme -wise they adjust from, you know, a first half where they're not getting any pressure on Purdy. If you look at the numbers of Purdy's performance in that San Francisco 49ers vaunted offense in the second half, Washington shut them the F down.
HouseAnd Jaden Daniels got moving. The offense got moving. Even with the depleted receiving core, you know, prayers up for Terry McLaurin. I haven't seen the reports yet, but it looks like this season's probably over for him. But Washington, you know, with David Blau, they were in their bag. Of course, it would have been phenomenal to have had the field goal in the first half that they should have effing had.
HouseAnd it even would have been fine for them to have kicked the field goal when they were down by six and inside the red zone with three minutes left because the defense was playing well enough. They still had timeouts, even though they wasted one. I'll stop now. But I'm just saying it was a good effort.
HouseIt was a cover effort. Great teams cover Washington between five and a half and six and a half wins for the season.
SalI was just looking at that. Isn't that something? Yeah, there's a heavy vig on the over or under, depending on which way you go with it. But the one to look at here, Raheem, as you pointed out in our text chain, to win the East plus 460, kind of had to wait for them to lose for that to be worth it or for anyone to be worth it for this cruddy pick.
