In context
Kapadiawas running well. Tank went down too. Yeah, it was like, you know, we did the thing of like the players that could least afford to lose. And those guys were just, you know, you were crossing them out during the entire game. So I actually, because there's a, you know, if I was a real Nick Sirianni hater, I would have been like, listen, this is what like coaching's about.
KapadiaTeams are injured. Sorry you don't have the best injury luck in the NFL this year. Yeah, this is what other coaches have to deal with. But this actually isn't extreme. This isn't because they have been. They've been one of the healthiest teams in the NFL pretty much every year. Nick Sirianni has been here, and you do expect that to go to a league average at some point.
KapadiaThis was beyond that. This was the extreme, like, no, now you look like one of the most injured teams in the NFL. So sorry to interrupt you, but yes, I do think that's obvious. Continues to be fair to point out.
HofmannThey pulled out the 49ers substation in the middle of the game, and they just started dropping like flies. Yeah, it was rough. And hopefully some of these injuries are two or three weakers, and they're able to get these guys back. Maybe they win a couple games. And then, yeah, maybe in November, December, they'll start to play better football with most of these guys.
HofmannBut it is true. And it does make you reflect on these past four or five years, because like you said, like, I mean, both Super Bowls they played in. Wasn't it like 21 of 22 starters?
KapadiaI was repeating every starter times that week. I don't remember what it was, but it was something like that.
HofmannAll right. Well, that's not normal. And as much as we want to credit the Eagles training staff, and seriously, I hope those guys got every bonus available in their contract for those few years. It just doesn't happen that much, right? And so, yeah, I'm not sure it's the year from hell.
