NBA Day One Reactions, Plus Blake Griffin and Peter Berg (Two Interviews!)

BillYeah.

BillYou knew they were going to lose.

BillI didn't bet it. I should have bet it. I kind of wanted to see what we were getting from this Sixers thing. But here's my big takeaway from this game.

BillI felt this way before the season. I went slightly under on the Sixers for their over -under total because I didn't know how these guys were going to mesh. I had a lot of concerns. We have some health stuff. We got to see all of them play together at night.

BillJust a really fun team to watch. I had a good time. there's a lot of subplots and plots and things happening during a Sixers game. Who's going to have the ball for specific stretches?

BillEmbiid is just a roller coaster at this point. He looks unstoppable one play. He looks like his career is about to be over the next play. He's all over the place. I didn't think he was particularly good or impactful today, and yet he was impactful. He made a couple of big defensive plays.

Billnear the end, the Knicks are inexplicably trapping the maxi high screen and they're turning into a four and three with Embiid at the top of the key. And he's just killing them. He's either passing the edge comb or he can shoot. And so that whole experience was all over the map, but kind of in a fun way.
