PelisseroIt's a clear go just in a normal situation in the game. But the way that the math works on the analytics side, and this is where gut and instinct does come into it, is you're counting possessions.

PelisseroWhat are the odds the Cowboys, who at that point had had one touchdown possession in the game, were going to come up with three to beat you in the final 836?

PelisseroThat's where, and Bolsa actually addressed it a few minutes ago, saying I got greedy and went for it. That was definitely on me. That's one that I know everyone's like, analytics are run amok, and you can certainly debate the Cowboys, Billy, going for two on the ensuing possession. But this was not the analytics.

PelisseroThis, if anything, is Todd probably going against what the numbers people would say because the time left in the game, they get stuffed. And I don't think he or any of the other teams that saw that happen last night are going to have that happen for quite a while.

GilYeah, I'm glad that he said that because my thinking when it was going on is Todd's feeling himself right now. Like he's in a position that no one expected him to be in. Right now he's up 14 points against the Cowboys. He's looking to make this a 21 point lead and really make a statement because we've talked about it.

GilThere is some pressure on him. He is listed as one of the guys who's on the hot seat and they've gotten off to this rough start. He's lost his starting quarterback, you know, for however many weeks it is that Baker's going to be out. who's now their franchise quarterback with the deal that they gave him.

GilSo it is kind of tough sledding ahead for the Bucs. So if they have this opportunity to almost embarrass the Cowboys on national TV on Thursday Night Football and go up by 21, I think that's probably along the lines of what he was thinking is, let's make a statement here, right? And then kind of get some of the heat off of me, but then it backfires and it's like, oh, Todd, but what were you thinking exactly there?
