Dallas Makes a Splash, Desperate Times for the Texans, and More Main Characters for Week 4

Kapadiathe way, if anyone, you know, wanted to get the news of that broken to them in their inbox with great detail, I would suggest that maybe subscribing to the suite, Billy. I don't know if that's how you found out about it. That's how, you know, it just popped up right on my phone there.

KapadiaSo you can check that out from Tom Pelissero. I had a tough time with this one for, you know, given the details that you've given there. Cause I generally believe that good roster building, when you draft a good player at a premium position, you hold on to them, you extend them, you take care of them.

KapadiaAnd that's how you form the foundation of your football team. But there obviously are exceptions. And this feels like an exception where they couldn't get on the same page with the contract. They didn't know if he was going to play. And I do think it's a better alternative for all the things we said about the Steelers.

KapadiaI don't think any of us think the Steelers are getting to the Superbowl, this year. So I think keeping an eye on the future is smart and you get a 2028 second round pick for him. So you're not just going to have to deal with this at the end of the season. Maybe he walks and you get nothing for him.

KapadiaSo I get it from the Steelers perspective at the same time. If I'm a Steelers fan, I'm like, I don't know. It might've been nice to just have him be a part of our football team for the next four or five years from the Cowboys perspective.

KapadiaI think it's a good move, except Tom, I want to ask you about this.

KapadiaWhen every team trades for a player like this who's in the last year of his deal and the trade does not come with a contract extension, I get very, very nervous because now if you're the Cowboys, you gave up a second, you gave up a six and the player has so much leverage now where you get to the end of the season and they're like, we want this.
