In context
GilYeah, I think it's the Packers team that we'd all been expecting and kind of waiting around for, right? Like two wins that they had this season, they snuck by the Jets, they barely held on to the Bucs, they got blown out by Michael Penix in his return, and then they had that collapse to the Vikings in week one and the Bears defense, to your point, they gave up 37 points week one to the Panthers, right?
GilBut after that, nine points to the Vikings, seven points to the Eagles, 12 points to the Jets, so they haven't been giving up a ton of points. So to see the Packers kind of just have their way with the defense was positive and, and, you know, a good step in the right direction, I guess, if you're a Packers fan and you see Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, what they can be together, right?
GilBecause Jordan Love was just launching the ball and they were going up there and they were, they're great passes, but they were making some great catches. There was one in the end zone particular where he catches it and he's covered and then slides, gets his feet in bounds to make sure to get the touchdown.
GilI mean, this could be, you know, prisoner of the moment here, but Christian Watson and Matthew Golden might be the best receiver tandem in the NFL. Are we jumping the gun on this
Pelisserohere?
PelisseroChristian Watson, Christian Watson is a bonafide superstar. He's everything that the Packers want a player to be. He's just had a lot of injuries over the years when he is healthy.
PelisseroHe's one of the top 10 receivers in the entire NFL and the emergence of Matthew Golden has been a big deal too. The Packers issue, yes, some of the big plays, obviously the overall offensive production wasn't there, but a lot of that was Matlin Fleur couldn't drop Jordan Love back because the line was so bad.
