WindhorstHe didn't have to do it. He did it.

WindhorstHe's still in a pretty good financial situation. I understand. But I was preparing the Cavs fan base with my media appearances in Cleveland during the spring that Donovan would potentially be a free agent in 27. And he bypassed it. He didn't. And I think he mulled it over. I mean, ultimately, he signed right about the first day he could extend.

WindhorstBut I think he mulled it over in the weeks leading up to it. Okay, the second big thing that they did was they hollowed out a lot of their depth to acquire Peyton Watson.

WindhorstThat was their big swing to upgrade their roster. They gave James Harden a three -year fully guaranteed contract, which I'm afraid is going to become a topic of conversation down the line. But they also did that. They had to give Harden more years, one more year at full guarantee, to get him to take enough of a pay cut for them to squeeze Peyton Watson into their roster.

WindhorstAnd they also, Vinny, decided no matter what to hang on Devin Mobley. They could have, that was something that they did, that they didn't take action, but they could have put him on offer for Giannis Tenacupo. They could have put him on offer for Jalen Brown.

WindhorstThey didn't. They held on to him, and they believe in the pairing with him and Donovan Mitchell.

WindhorstThey believe in the pairing with James Harden, and then they add Peyton Watson.
